Drawn traditionally with felt tip pen. The background is digital though, and around here that makes the whole piece digital.
This was created for a poster for an actual Slow Bike Race (which can be seen here: [link]). The aim of this "race" is to come last, whilst keeping your feet on the pedals and moving forwards at all times. I lol'd.
I tried to draw in the style of 19th century illustrations, with all the lines and cross-hatching. Don't know if I quite nailed it, but it looks ok. Really happy with how he guy turned out design-wise. I especially like the modification to the penny farthing that was required to accommodate for his stumpy legs that couldn't actually reach the pedals. Haha.
It turned out slightly Tim Burton-esque, which I have no problem with generally. I can imagine him in claymation, passing slowly in the background of Corpse Bride or something.

Just browsing through some of my old favorites - I still love this one. It would be great done as a series with different animals or modes of transportation.
