This started out as a simple doodle on some spare paper, with no aspirations to go anywhere or be anything other than idiosyncratic abstract things.
I normally work completely alone, but this time because it was just a doodle I was doing it out where other people would constantly be checking up on it etc and asking what it was. I had no idea what it was and kept turning the paper around to find something.
It was at times a tree, a chimpanzee, a flower, a turtle, nothing... and then parts began to resemble a goldfish, but I'd already drawn a platypus-like bill thing on one end. Then it came: Platyfish.
Drawn with Artline felt-tip pens, the "shadow" replica lying underneath done in Photoshop. I mucked around with so many different background textures, layouts, with text etc but in the end the simple white worked best. Hope you like it
