"It Was The Moon That Stole My Slumber"
Third typography poster for uni. This one illustrates the type for an extract of lyrics from the Silverchair song "Across the Night".
The line is about being unable to sleep because of the arresting luminosity and power of the moon, and the song in general is about falling in love with the night and the escapism and freedom it provides, but also the associated frustration that comes with insomnia. The song's elaborately orchestrated, and in a way that harks back to a bygone era.
So I tried to encapsulate all this imagery in my illustration. I took inspiration from the video
see here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoL5Q7…
which has an old silent-era film look, with flickers and areas of obvious brightness and contrast, and I looked specifically at George Milies' "A Trip to the Moon" (the one where the rocket lands in the moon's eye, brutal lol).
Hope you like!

I love this song and I think you encapsulated the imagery from the video amazingly. It reminds me of the part in the video where 'Act 1' comes up.
