Medium: Acrylic, watercolour and ink on paper.
Oh hello. Duck Ness. Named so because the silhouette, which started as a duck (doesn't everything?) reminded me of the Loch Ness monster. And it also has a good amount of duckness.
This started as one of my many (failed) recent returns to abstract painting. I wanted to get a really rough and scratchy but also soft and painterly surface happening, with visible brushstrokes and subtle colours. I reworked it so many times, I think I really murdered my paint brush.
The darker black was actually stencilled on, with the details being drawn afterwards. I really like this contrast of rough stencilling and (semi) cautious penwork. I may do more of that.
Anyway, hope you like it!
