This is one illustration I completed for an anthology of creative writing that will be on one of the inside covers. They gave me complete freedom other than it needing to be in black and white, which was awesome.
Great fun to do this one (including the exhilarating process of colouring the background with my smallest pen because it was the only way to achieve the right black ) and it'd be cool to revisit this idea in the form of a painting too

Yeah a couple of people have said Mononoke, I actually haven't seen the film itself (should get around to that), but I do find myself generally influenced/inspired by Ghibli stuff, the detail and beautiful colours.
